$326 million Mega millions ticket sold in New York

Groundbreaking $326 million Megamillions jackpot finally found its winner – mystery person from New York who is yet to come forward. The numbers that won the largest lottery prize in New York state history were 9, 15, 24, 39 and 41 and with a Mega Ball 1. Jackpot has been reset to $15 million.

There’s not much we know about New York’s brand new millionaire, except for the place where he purchased the golden ticket. It was Valero gas station and store on Route 302 in Orange County town Middletown, about 75 miles north of New York City. The store will receive $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

“It’s a big bonus for the store. Everybody is in a good mood, let’s just say that, even though it’s not our money,” said the store owner Michael Nafash.

Nafash, who has previously sold several lotto tickets worth up to $50,000, added he hopes the winner of this life-changing jackpot is one of his regular customers. Employee Alicia Miosi said a lot of people come through the store and the winner could be anybody, while cashier Roel Lopez wondered if he was the one who handed out the winning ticket.

“There are so many stores out there. What are the odds this would happen here? Did I sell the winning ticket? Honestly, I’m not sure. I hope I did. I hope I touched the winning ticket,” Lopez said.

This sole winning ticket is worth $326 million – more than the announced jackpot of $321 million due to the increased sales nationwide. Besides being the biggest in New York state history, the prize ranked as the eighth-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever offered.
