€72.000.000 Euromillions jackpot goes to France

After nearly a month of rollovers, a phenomenal €72.000.000 Euromillions jackpot is finally off the table! The top prize was won by one incredibly lucky player from France, but this shouldn’t stop you from becoming the next Euromillions winner!

Euromillions started off December with a bang as a single ticket holder scooped the mesmerizing €72 million jackpot. For nearly a month Euromillions players dreamed about picking up this huge windfall all for themselves and for one person from France that dream finally became reality.

The prize was won in Tuesday night’s draw and the winning numbers were 3, 15, 25, 44 and 49 with Lucky Stars 1 and 9. Christmas didn’t come early for just the jackpot winner alone – over two million participants won prizes. There were three ticket holders who matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a prize of €436.641 and while no winners appeared in the Match 5 tier, 48 players grabbed €13.645 each for matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars.

Française des Jeux (The French Games) announced that the latest French millionaire already validated his ticket in the department Bas-Rhin, but the name of the winner still remains a mystery. This is the largest lottery prize won by a French player in 2014, and also seventh largest lotto prize every won in France. Along with UK and Spain, France is one of the first countries in which Euromillions launched back in 2004. In November 2012 one French player scooped a €169 million jackpot and it is the top Euromillions win in this country to date.
